WSN welcomes Mark Blandford on board

Mark Blandford, with years of experience as a gambling entrepreneur behind him, is joining the board of World Sports Network (WSN) on the back of venture funding from his Valhalla Investments for the China-focused firm.

Valhalla funds for increased sports coverage

Valhalla Investments, headquartered at Alderney, specializes in the leisure department, and the first round of institutional lending for WSN has already been given.  The money is expected to fund coverage of more sports leagues, like America’s NBA, to cater to the growing popularity of sport in China, which took flight with the Beijing Olympics. It is not even one year since WSN’s football websites in two countries –Britain and China – went online, but they have become extremely popular and now get as much as one million page views every month, according to a company spokesman.

Expertise in online sports betting

Blandford founded Sportingbet and has vast expertise in online soccer betting, which WSN finds as exciting as Valhalla funds and internet casino’s. The excitement is mutual, with Blandford describing WSN as an ‘exciting company’ having the potential to supply volumes of information and statistics which have a bearing on sporting events. Already, Valhalla’s backing has enabled WSN to speed up some key projects and fuel its vision of creating China’s leading sports vertical, company CEO Charles Gillespie said.
