A record chip stack at Full Tilt’s Nosebleed Tables

It was a week that saw a double record. A chip stack of a record $ 1.5 million was set in the 6-max games on FullTilt Poker.com, with Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond taking home $1,266,264 — yet another record — after a string of successes in the games, according to the HighStakesDB website.

Largest stack in online poker history

HighStakesDB said that there was a time during the weekend when Galfond had a stack of $1.5 million at a $500/$1000 NLHE table. Online poker has reportedly not seen a larger stack at a single table than this, it said.
Galfond achieved his record winnings despite suffering a few massive setbacks during the course of play. He reportedly won three different pots, each with a value of much more than $400,000.

Impressive poker win for Dwan

Galfond was not the only one to hit a winning streak. On December 5, Tom ‘durr’ Dwan ended up with a whopping profit of $955,000 while playing Texas Hold’em NL $500/1000. In 24 hours, Dwan totally outplayed all others, including international players Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen. He won two stacks of $455,000 and $772,000. The next day, December 6, proved as lucky for Dwan and he won $657,000, taking his winnings in a span of 24 hours to well over one million dollars.

Massive $1.4 million loss

But not everyone was as lucky. On December 7, “Ziigmund’ suffered a massive loss of $1.4 million in an NLHE game. “Ziigmund”, who had been enjoying several successes over the previous few days, found his luck had finally run out. Another player whom Lady Luck deserted was “ELmariachimacho”, who suffered a huge $750,000 loss. Their bad luck worked to the advantage of OMGClayAiken (+$613,000), Dwan (+$501,000) and Urindanger (+$409,000).Not Helpful
